Introducing an easy to make crossbody bag for kids.
Pictures and Description
I made a bag using fabric with a cute pattern.
She took it with her when she went to the museum for her school class.
There is an inner pocket inside.
1cm (⅜") seam allowance included.
You can download the semicircle pattern at the bottom of this post.
Safety Pin, Fiberfill, Needle&Thread, Forceps or Tweezers
How to make
1. Let’s make the pocket first. Fold it in half so that the wrong side is facing
and sew it, leaving an opening.
2. Clip seam allowances diagonally
and fold the seam allowance inward. It's better if you iron it.
3. Turn inside out through the opening and sew the folded part.
4. On the right side of the lining, sew the pocket 8cm (3¼in) below the top.
5. Fold the wrong side out, leave an opening, and sew the side lines.
6. Open the seam allowance, fold the bottom part, and sew to complete the lining.
8. Open the seam allowance on both sides, fold the bottom part, and sew.
9. Insert a piece of webbing strap to a square ring
and fix it by lightly sewing on the side seam.
Fix the webbing strap as well.
11. Turn inside out.
12. Shape and sew the top once more.
13. Sew twice at a width of 2cm (⅞in) from the top to make a tube for the cotton string.
14. Sew up the opening.
15. Tie a cotton string to a safety pin and thread the string into the tube.
14. Fold in half and sew with a seam allowance of 0.5cm (¼").
15. Running stitch, and at the end, insert a needle between the threads and pull it.
16. Stuff with fiberfill, insert the drawstring knot, pull it, and tie a knot.
19. Insert the webbing strap into the buckle, hang it on the square ring,
insert it into the center of the buckle, and sew.
(It will be easy to check in the video. 13:00).
That's it!
