In Korea,
there is a tradition on New Year's Day
where children bow to their family or relatives and receive money.
I made a Blue Dragon Envelope to put that money in.
Pictures and Description
Among the 12 animals that symbolize the year, 2024 is the year of the blue dragon.
The traditional way is to give it in a drawstring pouch called a “Bok-Ju-Meo-Ni”.
It looks like this.
It may or may not look like a blue dragon...
For instructions on how to make it, see the Bunny Envelope.
Make sure not to put too much fiberfill to the horn.
I had doll eyes that were bigger than the rabbit envelope eyes,
so I glued them on with a hot glue gun.
Would it have looked more like a dragon if I had drawn mustaches?
February 10th is the Lunar New Year holiday in Korea.
I can already picture the faces of the children who will be happy after receiving their New Year's money.
Try making it.
Mustaches and beards I drew for fun
Pick one?
It would be better without it, right?
