Wrap your favorite book in a fabric book cover.

Pictures and Description

Fabric Book Cover
I made pretty fabric book covers.
You can easily make it any size you want, so try it.
Just make two or three of each size and you should be able to use most books.

Fabric Book Cover
This is a book cover made to fit one of my favorite books, Daddy Long Legs.

Fabric Book Cover
One side is folded and fixed with a elastic band,
so you can use books with different thicknesses as long as the length is right.

Fabric Book Cover
It also has a ribbon for bookmarks.

Fabric Book Cover
The elastic band keeps the book from opening.

Feel the pleasure of making a book cover when you have a favorite book or give a book as a gift.

Materials

Fabric Book Cover
Measure the lengths of A and B.
It is a small book with A = 28cm (11in) and B = 19cm (7½in).

Fabric Book Cover
Determine the length of the folds C and D according to the size of the book.
Small books are short, large books are long.

Fabric Book Cover
Outer is linen, lining is cotton.
It looks super complicated, but it's simple.

How to make

Fabric Book Cover
1. Place the outer and lining right sides together and cut out to the indicated size.
2. Sew on the uncut side, turn over and sew once more.

Fabric Book Cover
3. Mark the folding part and fold it like the picture.

Fabric Book Cover
4. Fix the elastic band and ribbon on the outer fabric.
5. Cover the lining and sew, leaving an opening.

Fabric Book Cover
6. Cut the seam allowance of the angled part,
and fold the seam allowance inward. Ironing is better.
7. Turn inside out and shape it.

Fabric Book Cover
8. Fold the opening seam allowance inward and sew.
That's it. Cover the book with the book cover.
