I made a tote bag using pretty fabric with a refreshing peach pattern.
Pictures and Description
I made two sizes of easy-to-make plastic bag-shaped bags.
It is a two-layer bag with a lining.
It may be a bit difficult to fold the bottom because it is not a single layer,
but it is easy to make if you follow the video while watching the video.
If you hang it on your arm, a large bag is about this size
There are two sizes of patterns, so make it the size you want.
Pattern
(L) is 4 sheets of A4 paper, (S) is divided into 2 sheets.
(You can download the pattern at the bottom of this post.)
Materials
All cotton fabric.
Prepare 4 pieces, 2 pieces each.
It is more convenient if you fold it twice and cut the two sheets at once.
Add 1cm (⅜in) seam allowance and cut.
How to make
1. Sew the side seams of the outer and lining pieces.
(Open all seam allowances.)
2. Turn the outer fabric inside out and put it into the lining to fit the shape.
3. Sew 4 parts of the handle.
(It is easier if you draw a seam line on the lining handle and sew it.)
5. Place the pattern on both sides of the lining and mark the folds.
Place the outer fabric on top of the lining,
align the side seams of the outer fabric and lining,
and then fold the outer fabric so that the outer fabric is inserted between the lining.
(This part will be easier to understand if you watch the video.)
(If it is too narrow to turn over,
you can leave an opening on the lining side
when sewing the side seam in #1 and sew it.)
9. Shape and iron.
10. Sew one more time following the shape of the handle.
11. Sew facing the outer fabric of the handle.
12. Open the seam allowance on both sides, fold it,
and sew it into a rectangular shape.
Done!
