How to Make a Portable Grocery Bag that Ties with a Elastic Band

I made a portable grocery bag.

It's the same shape bag that I have made myself and have been using for 10 years.

I uploaded the pattern and making video so that you can try making it.

It is portable and convenient to use

because it can be fixed with a scrunch after folding the grocery bag.

Although it is a single layer bag, the handle is double layered.

When going out,

I like a large bag that can hold the children's outerwear, water bottles, and snacks.

Even if it is not necessarily a grocery bag,

you can use it in a variety of ways depending on your needs.

Cut the fabric by folding it twice.

The seam allowance on the bottom of the lining is 2cm (¾in)

and the rest is 1cm (⅜in).

You can make it with just fabric and a elastic band.

1. Fold the lining seam allowance twice at 1cm (⅜in) each and sew.

2. Place the lining on top of the outer fabric and sew only the marked areas like picture.

3. Clip the curves and turn inside out.

4. Open the seam allowance on both sides and connect the handles.

5. Fold the seam allowance to one side and sew once more.

6. Fold the seam allowance on the handle inward and sew around it.

7. Make the remaining lining in the same way.

8. Unfold the lining and sew both side. Zigzag or serging.

9. Sew the bottom of the bag. Zigzag or serging.

10. Fold the lining inward and sew the edges.

11. Fold one end of the elastic band fabric by 1cm (⅜in),

fold it in half, and sew.

12. Turn it over using a safety pin.

13. Insert the elastic band inside using a safety pin.

14. Tie the elastic band around the bag handle.

15. Insert one end into the folded side and sew.

16. Fold it and tie it with a elastic band to carry it around and use it comfortably.
